Imaging Process |
With high-volume imaging, only a high-quality process
can ensure a satisfactory result. IPS approaches every document management
project, whether on-site or off-site, with the same disciplined, step-by-step
process:
1. IPS studies the customer's methods of
document handling management, including classification, storage, retrieval,
security and distribution.
2. IPS conducts an Image Inventory Analysis
to gather such key data as the typical number of pages, their condition,
their size and weight, media types, and document management and retention
requirements.
3. IPS helps identify the optimal index schemes
based on current and future document management needs, page or file-level
indexing needs, the availability of existing index records, and the
feasibility of optical or intelligent character recognition (OCR or
ICR).
4. IPS outlines a Project Plan that determines
facility, equipment, staffing, document tracking, methods to port the
images into the system and other requirements.
5. IPS tests and benchmarks its procedures
on a small scale to ensure that they are valid, meet quality standards,
and interface easily with your document management methods.
